It's getting cold

It's getting cold here in Arizona, nooo :( I'm a summer person, and i do not like winter at all. It's too cold for me :( A picture of me during the winter months lol.

11 things why i hate winter!

1) Winter clothes. I have to wear an inner wear called the long john to keep myself warm, and yes definitely a sweater and a coat. Long thick socks, high boots and sometimes, a scarf. Its really troublesome, both putting on and taking off! Actually it depends on the temperature as it varies from day to day, if it gets too cold then one would have to add more layers/ wear something thicker to keep themselves warm! And winter clothes sucks. They are not as machine-washing friendly as the summer clothes because they are made of wool.

2) I live in a very dry area, average humidity is low, and so we all have dry skin problems. Then, i will start having small red itchy bumps on my skin and i've to apply Vasaline every single day to hydrate and moisturize the skin. Not only the skin, MY HAIR too. It got so dry that it feels like straw during winter.

3) Combined with those goosebumps and static shocks, those darn things are really uncomfortable. Whenever i touch a door handle or a tap faucet, i'll get shock. Then i would have to use a static guard and spray it on a regular basis to prevent myself from getting those shocks. It isn't painful, (just a 1sec shock) but i totally hate it.  :/ I probably should get a humidifier to increase the amount of atmospheric water vapor in the air.

4) Road. I don't have a lot of experience driving on snow and ice (probably once or twice in Utah but i have to be very careful.) During winter, the road is slippery and the car will skid/ spin across a wet surface (hydroplaning) if you brake hard. The last thing you wanna have is a car accident lol. And driving with a fogged up window is just awful.

5) For some places, all the trees are bares and the grass are dead. Ugly.. However, people still put up Christmas lights on their front yard and that makes everything beautiful!

6) I can't wear my summer clothes anymore:( (dress, skirts, shorts, t-shirt, tank tops, sandals, slippers) Well, prepare to keep all the summer clothes and bring out my winter clothes! One thing. i'm ALWAYS late for school even after putting on a shirt and a pair of shorts and rush out of home to school..  What if it's winter?! Argh... Wear layers and layers, grab a coat, find my socks, and tie my shoelaces, etc. Oh no, i'm so gonna be late :( I should LEARN to get up earlier and get things done fast!

7) Waking up in the winter is 100 times harder than waking up in the summer. I find it difficult to leave my comfy warm bed on a frigid winter morning! I'm afraid over-sleeping might cause me to regularly be late for class, and i'm a stubborn person who always sleep late at night. (12am- 2am). Well, i think it might be worth trying to hit the hay a few hours earlier to see if that helps me rise on time :) But i guess it will never happen as i'm always tied up with lots of assignments/essays, stay up late and get things done as soon as possible so that i can get them out of my way.... My parents are always constantly reminding me to sleep early, not only does it helps you to focus better the next morning but it provides health benefits as well. Hmm.... An earlier bedtime might just do the trick, i hope i can be more discipline!

8) Always confined to your home, restaurants, and spaces that are warm with the heater running. Many a times i wanna go out to the backyard/ walk around the neighborhood i just don't feel comfortable doing so as it. is. too. cold. Oh and i have a pool at home, it's totally useless during the winter lol.

9) I dread the cold of getting into the shower during winter. On a daily basis, i find myself reluctant to take shower, BUT still, i take my regular showers ok haha.. Just that sometimes i do not have the "feel" to shower but i still force myself to! I want to stay clean, if i don't take a shower for a day i would feel uncomfortable sleeping on my bed. weird. I know that there're definitely some people who don't shower everyday during the winter months. They have this mentality" oh i'm not even sweating, there's no reason to shower". Haha, but nah i think hygiene is important. Next, i'm always cold in the shower even if the water is hot. Then after shower i would have to hurriedly grab the towel, dry myself, wrapped, hide in my wardrobe and get dressed with long sleeves, pants and socks. The whole process is just. "coldness". lol feels like i'm in a refrigerator.

10) There's no way to warm up a cold nose. My nose is always red during the winter, feels like ice and it's sensitive. The risks of catching colds are higher. My toes are always freezing too, no matter how many pairs of socks i wear haha.

11) Lastly, sun rise late, sun sets early. During summer, the sunrise at 5.30am, sunset at 7.30pm.
During winter, the sunrise at 7.30am, sunset at 5.30pm. See the difference? 3 hours difference of daylight hours. Lol, i love the sun! i don't like the fact that it gets dark so early.

Whatever it is, i hope i'll be able to cope during the winter months. Nov- April. :)
